Functional Occlusion

Treatment Goal

Is the right relation between both temporomandibular joints and the teeth position inner their jaw & maxilla arches not only at close bite, also the best masticators muscles performance when bite is open with appropriate contacts, without irregular wear out.

Video 1. Opening and Closing. During jaw opening and close, is very important there are not lateral jaw detour and every teeth should contact at same time.

Video 2. Protrusive (forward). This kind of jaw movement is very common during chew and is very important front teeth guide forward the jaw. Front teeth should be the only contact.

Video 3. Lateral Shift. This is a common masticator movement and this time the lateral guidance are canines, both upper and lower should be the only contact.
